Hmm...life hasn't been that bad although I've been a little unlucky these days. :/ At times, the managers made some accidental mistakes and somehow they were related to my orders. (e.g, this manager was trying to act smart and key in the bill for a particular table and messed it up instead: The bill for 2 dishes came up to an absurd $82!) The cashier traced it back to my order and thought that it was my fault. :S Thankfully, he came to the "rescue".haha.
Some interesting snippets while observing the patrons: 1. A heart-warming sight this afternoon: An expectant mother with a cute little boy (pumpkin hairstyle) came in to dine. MuM: (shoves the menu to boy with a smile) Baby, do you think that I should order the cake or ice-cream? bOy: (scratches head and starts thinking deeply and carefully) Hmm..Cake. MuM: Why Cake? bOy: So that you'll not catch a cold. MuM: (grins) (catch a cold from eating ice-cream? Interesting logic..)
Of course the description (minus the audio and visual components) doesn't sound THAT touching over here.heh.:)
2. Shy little girls blushing and giggling over 1st date at SR. (those of you out there, I'm sure you were one of them...heheh) Me: So what would you like to have? girl: (starts blushing, giggling and shaking her head) boy: Don't worry lah..just order anything you like. (smiles) girl: Anything will do...(sweet and dreamy smile) ...
3. Dry-humour (Apparently it was not funny) Woman: Any recommendation for cakes? Me: Yup. Our marble cheese is an award-winning cake..choc banana hot fav... Woman: What if it's not nice? (grins wryly) (touches my name tag with an I-know-it-look) Woman: Ahh..then u, yunli trainee will pay for it uh?
xxxxxx
Woman: Hmm..the Chocolate Indulgence seems pretty nice..and sinful. Me: (takes down order) Any more order for you, mdm? Woman: Wait till I try it. Then I will decide if I want to indulge somemore.
These are merely the ones that I can remember. Of course there were more interesting ones but I'm afraid my memory's been failing me. (I don't even remember that ASS Vice Principal exists :])
But the bottom-line is: Be appreciative the next time you see a service crew smiling at you! :) You never know how much it brightens someone's day.

It's not that chocolates are a substitute for love. Love is a substitute for chocolate. Chocolate is, let's face it, far more reliable than a man. ~Miranda Ingram
