Heh..I've decided to try something new: Be part of the service crew at Secret Recipe! -grins- It was a pure coincidence as I was out shopping with my group of students that day when I chanced upon the notice. Went for the walk-in interview last Tue and just had "training" by the outlet supervisor. =) He's a corny guy who seemed to be shocked and uncomfortable about having 5 newbies joining the crew simultaneously. (Of which 4 are of the same age & another our junior)
At 9am: Supervisor: "Ehh..I didn't expect all 5 of u to turn up for training today! (wry smile) Usually when there's 5 interviewees, only 2, at most 3 turn up eventually. So it seems like nowadays, everyone NEEDS a job. You know something...there's only 1 full-timer working here..it seems nobody wants to work full-time in an F&B industry anymore."
Food for thought, isn't it?
He seemed to have trouble slotting us into his timetable and tried to waste as much time as possible during the 9-12 training. We received our blue uniform and apron..hehe..scrutinized the menu. Oh! The more prominent ones are: Irish Lamb Stew, Cream of Broccoli and not forgetting the cheesecakes! :P We learnt to set the table..quite an interesting experience. While dining, I rarely notice all these gritty details. Now it's a good time to appreciate them. :) Initially we were told to work at least 4X a week...in view of the overwhelming response, it's been reduced to 3X a week..hehe. That leaves more room for free time, on top of my teaching commitment. :)
Life's gonna be more hectic and interesting.
