::"The Doll Master"::

Strongly recommend the non faint-hearted ones to watch Korean’s best horror flick “The Doll Master”! Yup… it’s an awesome mixture of horror and overwhelming emotions tugging at your heartstrings. It started off with a couple who were deeply in love and the man created a doll that was an exact replica of the woman. Oh..the doll was imbued with human-like feelings. It fell in love with the man and was filled with jealousy towards the woman. The woman was mysteriously hanged and the man was accused of murder and hacked to death eventually by 4 men. The doll stayed by the man’s grave and vowed to seek revenge…Flashes of a couple vividly attracted by the doll…and then..the lady was possessed. This woman became the so-called “doll master” and set up a doll gallery. Those dolls displayed could well send creeps down your spine.hehe.
Anyway, the movie fast forwarded to many generations later when 4 young men and women were all invited to this doll gallery for the doll master to create a doll that looked like themselves. Weird happenings occurred as 3 of them died mysterious deaths..with Hak Mei (the lead actress) being accused of murder. The most intriguing part was the chat between 2 friends about their dolls. Hak Mei was nonchalant about the dolls she threw many years ago and could not remember them. One day..she chanced upon a young girl at the woods. Through Mrs Im (the possessed doll maker), Hak Mei was puzzled why Mina (the young girl) kept insisting that they knew each other long ago when in fact it was the first time they met. Through a series of investigations and recollections, it finally dawned on her that Mina was the doll that she threw away when she was young. It was said that dolls grow attached to humans after many years and they possess souls. To kill them, you gorge out their eyes and slash their necks. Mina was the one behind all the killings as she wanted to protect her “owner”. However, Hak Mei remained indifferent. The loyalty of Mina and the pain she felt when Hak Mei spouted she didn’t like her a tweeny bit was very heart-wrenching as they flashed back past memories. “…Why did you throw me away…” is enough to fill your heart with bouts of sympathy and sadness. In a bid to save Hak Mei, Mina died a grotesque death with the doll master slashing her neck and gorging her eyes.
After the characters met with fateful deaths, it was revealed that all 4 of them were descendents of the 4 killers and were long anticipated by the doll master…Believed the most hideous past was the doll-toilets with the doll as the back seat cover and a mirror in front..ah.. blood oozing out. Hmm…
This is a terrific movie as every part became linked up with the movie’s continuation. Flashes of long black haired and white-faced women reminds me of the dolls..hehe. Oh yah..seems like those Barbie dolls of mine are sending creeps…shall not name them or throw them away…

::What a day~::

Heyz!
This must have been the craziest day ever..hahaz. Went round exploring Singapore AGAIN (like nobody's business.) Oh..JN and I were so "bored" that we decided to take the 1st bus that came along @ the bus-stop outside The Heerens. Hha..we really adhered to that "rule" and hopped on to Express 518..ehh..(initially we thought that the concession pass would serve as a "free trip")..well..we were wrong.hehe. Express buses were exclusive of this kinda concession..ah well! wasted 77cents after travelling past 1 bus-stop! Heh..a lesson learnt! Hmm..then we alighted and took on the next bus 190. Striked a deal that we would drop off after counting 10 stops that the bus stopped. Hmm...we ended @ Outram Park..ahh..the ulu place where we went to visit the doctors @ Health Promotion Board. =) Then took bus 12 all the way to Chinatown..Pasir Ris...it was an ULTRA long journey..haha. But totally scenic. -gRinz-
Oh..and some true-blue Singaporean cynic sitting behind us "tarnishing" Singapore's reputation of a socially-stable country to a tourist..Here goes " Singapore is actually not a safe place to begin with...you may think that it is socially stable but it's NOT.. Singapore appears to be a multi-racial and harmonious society but it's all fFAKE..Oh..a strike is possible, why not? But a revolution like those in USSR is impossible though..." Blah...before I got kinda annoyed and shut my ears..ah those droning voices...
Hmm..how could he speak-ill of the country so openly...and he's downright atrocious I must say..
Aye..the journey seemed like the frozen moments of the MRT line..we finally reached Pasir Ris and the place was bombarded with NS men who just came back from Tekong. A greenish sight to behold~
The exploring was quite fun though...we chanced upon many ulu "houses" of the Japanese Occupation era somewhere along Mountbatten Road. Yep...heard that the occupants are descendents of the people who came to Singapore in the early days. The residential plots were gigantic---for a single plot of residential land. What a waste of land~
