It's the last day of Term 1 (huh? what term? some may wonder)..supposedly none of our business..but we are all fretting over unmarked scripts, unchecked files, students who give stupid excuses and do not hand up work at all. Can be quite irritating when the excuses are repeated over time. And students who copy work...can't they copy smartly, at the very least? They could just modify or copy halfway..instead of behaving like a photocopying machine ;) Chasing students for their files and work has never been more difficult..sending them home to get their stuff...punishing them and in the end the teacher forgets about it. That's probably the worst part. And students just happily skive away like that. Term 2 is going to be more challenging. Especially with recalcitrant students, where DCs dont seem to work at all. Worse still, the student isn't local and there's no way you can complain about this student. So he mixes with bad influence, thinks whatever he's been doing is cool..goes around disturbing others and being disrespectful to teachers.
Teachers ought to be treated better.
